Microdot+ strip and control use
Please be aware that the vial of strips must be closed after every use to prevent contamination (thus resulting in false readings). Once opened strips will last for six months providing they are sealed after every use and stored as per storage instructions. If your strips are consistently reading outside of the ideal control range (this can be found on the strip vial) please contact us for replacements and we will exchange them. Control solution is only accurate for three months after opening but replacement solution is available free of charge from CSL via our helpline, contact page or online shop (insert link).
Software Download System:
By using the software programme you can monitor your blood glucose readings by charting graphs and lists of your readings and insulin data (all these automatically save the time and date). The download cable is available to purchase via our online shop. The software is free of charge please find on the download page following this link (insert link).
For more information or help setting up the software system please contact our helpline on 0800 088 3920 or via the contact page. The software should take you through the set up system when downloaded.

• No coding or code chips: Therefore teaching patients is very simple and saves a lot of time.
• Patient safety: There are no maltose interference problems with Microdot+ unlike many other systems, Microdot+ can therefore be used by dialysis patients or those undergoing IV therapy.
• Healthcare Professional Safety: Microdot+ has a strip eject button so there is no need to handle used strips or come into contact with patient blood.
• Ease of Training: Microdot+ has a fill window so that the patient can see the blood filling the strip; in addition the blood can be applied from the top as well as the side, thus you do not have to be so fastidious in how you apply the blood.
• Advanced features to help compliance: Microdot+ has many advanced features including a large easy to read display; small blood sample required (0.06µ); fill check (so a result is only given if enough blood is applied); ability to set up to 4 alarms and a buzzer.
Microdot blood glucose systems are now widely used by healthcare professionals and include many features that are designed to make blood glucose testing accurate, safe and efficient. These include strip ejection (to avoid handling blood contaminated strips); addition of blood from the side or above the strip; no coding; quality assurance systems (including EQAS); full training and support. The technically advanced strip chemistry (NAD glucose dehydrogenase) is usually only found on laboratory instrumentation and is designed to reduce the effects of interferences such as Vitamin C and common drugs. All devices conform to the latest ISO 15197:2013 standards for accuracy, and extensive clinical trials have been carried out in UK primary care settings (where most diabetes is treated).

Cost Effective Prescribing: Microdot droplet pen needles
In order to help control costs further, Cambridge Sensors is now offering a range of high quality insulin pen needles for prescription, under the brand name “Microdot Droplet”, in the UK and Ireland. A typical CCG with an average of at least 5,000 insulin users will be spending over £300,000 on these items per year and the bill is growing at an average of 6% per annum.
Microdot Droplet pen needles are made to our specifications in the EU by major ISO compliant manufacturer, are designed to make insulin injection as pain free as possible, and have a highly engineered tip that reduces pain and improves compliance.
Due to their comfort, extra sharpness and thin wall, the microdot droplets are designed to make insulin injection as PAIN FREE as possible. The Microdot Droplet pen needles are compatible with all UK insulin pens.
